  2. Disgree totally: The Tippling Club! (absolutely not worth it), Shinji Kanesaka (not worth it), Sushi Yoshida (standard drop terribly), Red Star (only for experience not food).

Disagree totally: Fei Fei wanton mee (not nice haha)

Agree Absolutely: Saint Pierre, Les Amis, Otto, Tatsuya, Nogawa, Goto

Bestest in the list goes to Ah Chiang's Porridge! (my fav! not Chiang's haha)

  5. Hhaa, you're on your way there - I saw you posting on FB re Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah!

French l Italian l Modern European

Saint Pierre - Yes! You totally should - one of my favourite French places in Singapore

Les Amis - Why haven't I been here? Hmm, maybe when the wallet feels full!

The Tippling Club - Haven't tried, but heard mixed reviews

Gunther's - Ahh, their caviar pasta was great!

Otto Ristorante - White truffle season, I saw their ad on Facebook. S$10 per gram!

The Lighthouse - My first ever fine dining experience when I was 17! Love the view and ambience! Ask to go to the roof!

Gattopardo - For someone who doesn't like desserts, I loved theirs! Go try go try!

    Dessert
    2am: Dessert Bar
It's more for the bar, rather than desserts. Perhaps it's like Wild Rocket, not my thing.

    Buffet
Triple Three @ Mandarin Orchard - I love the 3 piece Filipino band if it's still there

  7. You haven't had 328 Katong Laksa?! Go. You must. At least once.

Thasevi's is overrated, I agree. Their standards have plummeted much since they first started. Parking's a pain too if you drive.

And I haven't tried all of the Les Ami's restaurants (I wonder if anyone has) but so far, Bistro Du Vin has the best Duck Leg Confit I've had in Singapore.

Loong Fat's tau sar piahs are best when you dine in, since they'll be fresher and piping hot, although the pastry isn't the kind that I like. It melts too much in the mouth and there isn't much to bite. To each his own, really.

Good luck trying to complete your list! And hey, I'm not one to say no to good food, so I'm always up for makan. XD

  8. Shinji is alright. I'm female and a small eater and by the end of my $350 meal, I didn't feel full.
The sushi and sashimi is undoubtedly fresh. Alot of careful thought and preparation goes into it. But I just didnt feel that it was justified. I did like the counter table. One long continuous piece of wood from japan, cypress? The manager said that it was all from the same tree and they used it to give a sense of continuity instead of using many pieces of wood.
I do recommend Goto, but please bear in mind Goto is closed on Sundays. Danny takes over and serves vegetarian Japanese. That is really good as well.
